Publication Design

The magazine is focused on filling a gap in print media which is to have a magazine that looks at op shopping and thrifting for the sake of the environment. As the main audience for this magazine is people who frequently go op shopping and collect items, it was essential to capture the audience’s eye by having thrifted items displayed on the front cover.

As op shoppers are accustomed to viewing clutter and searching for the next best thing, the magazine seeks to create a busy feel while still being clear and easy to read. This was achieved by a square grid used consistently across all pages. This allowed nearly every spread to have a completely different layout and use of space, while still having a connected feeling.
